MUSCAT: The National Programme for Preparing Young Leaders, ‘Qiyadi,’ organised by Muscat Governorate in collaboration with the Centre for Preparing Young Leaders, concluded on Saturday.

The three-day programme saw the participation of more than 60 students, aged between 11 and 14, from different wilayats of Muscat Governorate, and was held at the Civil Aviation Authority Hall.

Ahmed bin Ali al Shuhi, Wali of Al Seeb and chief guest of the closing ceremony, said that the Qiyadi programme embodies the governorate’s commitment to supporting development initiatives that aim to discover promising talents and abilities at an early age, guiding them on the correct paths in order to prepare generations capable of actively participating in building society.

At the event's conclusion, six participants were announced as qualifiers for representing Muscat Governorate in the next stage at the national level in the Sultanate of Oman. These qualifiers are: Al Hawari bin Rashid al Hinai, Hamad bin Madin al Sabti, Hadi bin Aqeel al Ajmi, Sakina bint Abdullah al Sawafi, Reema bint Hamid al Bimani, and Baraa bint Darwish al Balushi. Their qualification was based on their engagement and excellence in the training programmes.

The programme aimed to develop budding talents in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 for human development and preparing a generation qualified for the future. — ONA
